We’re an enthusiastic band of amateur gardeners who started digging and planting outside of our housing here on the Wyndford in about 2020.
Built in the 60s the Wyndford Estate has around 1300 homes with 400 more in the pipeline and sits on 55 acres. With the 60s housing ideals of housing situated around community green spaces we are blessed with many mature trees and grassed areas, often with cars banished to the backs of the houses, and safe squares overlooked from kitchen windows perfect for families to enjoy being outdoors.
We’ve created many garden spaces – raised beds for food growing, in-ground beds for flowers for beauty and biodiversity and wildflower meadows. We plan to do lots more including planting fruit trees.
We’re all learning together, it’s a lot of fun and we’re getting a lot from spending time outdoors together. It doesn’t matter if you have any experience of gardening, even if you just fancy a blether that’s grand. Come and join us, we’d love to have you along!
